SLEs
The three teaching school alliances in Thurrock – Thurrock Primary Teaching School Alliance, Harris Academy Chafford Hundred Teaching School Alliance and Thurrock Teaching School Alliance – are working together to recruit SLEs who will be able to support colleagues in Thurrock following successful designation. SLEs are a key part of a school-led system, which is driven by a moral purpose and that recognises the reciprocal benefits derived from peer-to-peer support.
To become an SLE, a teacher should be an outstanding practitioner with at least two years’ experience of a leadership role (including middle leadership roles). Aspirant SLEs can work in any phase and any school, but must have the support of their headteacher to apply. Deployments will vary, and will be subject to the SLE’s headteacher’s permission.
