Safer recruitment training, whilst no longer mandatory for schools, is recommended by the Local Authority as the best way of ensuring your panel has the most up to date advice and guidance on the latest safer recruitment practices. We continue to recommend that a recruitment panel must have at least one member who has completed the training.

Refresher Course

Since 2010, it has been mandatory for recruitment panels to have at least one member who has completed appropriate Safer Recruitment Training.

There is no requirement to renew this training, but policy and practice change over time and up to date knowledge is essential in this important area.

This course is designed for those that have completed the Safer Recruitment Training but who now want to refresh their knowledge of best practice and to bring themselves up to date with the latest developments. It is recommended that refresher training is undertaken every 3-5 years.
