Rhys Latham - Dilkes Academy

Rhys has been part of the Dilkes Academy team since 2005, and is the Headteacher. Since joining Dilkes, and in his role as a trainer for National Science Learning Centre, his passion and drive to enthuse other individuals- both teachers and children, about Science, and make a difference to other schools in this curriculum area has shone through. Rhys has a Master’s Degree in Education, through which he recognises the importance of learning as a continuous journey. His role as Teaching School Director has encouraged him to enthusiastically embrace outreach opportunities to other schools, allowing him to spread excellent practice.

Martin Curtis - Dilkes Academy

Martin is Currently Deputy Headteacher at Dilkes Academy and brings over 20 years experience to the teaching school.  He has worked in a wide variety of roles across Essex, including working for the local authority.  Martin has a passion for using technology as an aid to learning and teaching, championing this in a number of schools and providing staff CPD on the use of technology.  Assessment for learning and the use of data to support teaching are other areas he is keen to share with colleagues.

Samantha Wakeling - Quarry Hill Academy

My areas of expertise are in English and KS2. I have been an English leader and SLE for many years and have a Master’s degree in Education Management and an NPQH. I am Headteacher at Quarry Hill and play an active role in supporting our other trust schools. As a leader, I have implemented many new successful initiatives, leading training sessions for teachers, students, NQTS, support staff and parents. I am an experienced practitioner who is passionate and dedicated in my work. I strive to inspire and enthuse children, to motivate them to become independent learners, to develop a life-long love of learning.

Hayley Law - Dilkes Academy

Hayley joined Dilkes Academy three years ago and is currently an Assistant Headteacher and Science Subject Leader. Her enthusiasm for professional development and action based research has enabled her to work with different schools as part of her outreach work. She is currently working with the Institute of Education on a project, which focuses on research learning communities and is currently conducting action based research which concentrates on growth mindset. Hayley delivers the High Impact Teacher Training programme and enjoys continuing to further research and improve the teaching strategies and methods which promote high levels of progress and engagement.
